Causes of Non-Current Blood Circulation
There are several diseases that can make blood circulation not smooth, namely:
1. Diabetes
Diabetes will increase blood sugar levels, the long-term effects of this disease will make blood circulation in the body worse. One of them can cause cramps or pain in the legs, calves, thighs, or buttocks. Cramps will usually get worse when you do physical activity.
2. Peripheral artery disease (PAD)
Peripheral artery disease is caused by a buildup of fat in the walls of the peripheral arteries in the legs. As a result, the arteries become narrow and blood flow to the leg muscles decreases. The disease can cause complaints of mild to severe pain and usually will decrease when resting.
Susceptible peripheral artery disease occurs in elderly people, smokers, people who experience diseases such as metabolic syndrome, coronary heart disease, high cholesterol, stroke, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
3. Varicose veins
This condition is known as varicose veins. Varicose veins occur when small valves in veins do not function properly.
Veins have small valves that routinely open and close to keep blood flowing smoothly. If the valve is damaged or weakened, the blood flow becomes not smooth and gather in the veins. This will cause swelling of the veins.
4. Raynaud's disease
In Raynaud's disease, blood vessels will narrow when the body is cold or stressed. As a result, blood circulation becomes not smooth.
Due to poor circulation, the skin can turn pale and blue. Patients with Raynaud's disease are also prone to injury and tissue death in areas with impaired circulation.
